New President and Academic Dean of the PFIC

From the website of the Pontifical Faculty of the Immaculate Conception:

The Pontifical Faculty of the Immaculate Conception at the Dominican House of Studies is pleased to announce that the Holy See has confirmed the Very Rev. Thomas Petri, O.P. to serve as its new President.

This approval by the Vatican’s Congregation for Catholic Education follows the nomination of Fr. Petri by the Prior Provincial, the Very Rev. Kenneth Letoile, O.P. The nomination was approved by the Council of the Faculty, the Province’s Intellectual Life Commission, the Board of Trustees (the Provincial Council of the Province of St. Joseph), and the Very Rev. Gerard Timoner, O.P., Master of the Order of Friars Preachers, who serves as the Chancellor of the PFIC.

Fr. Petri’s term begins immediately. He has resigned the position of Academic Dean which he held for nearly eight years. The new Dean is Rev. Dominic Langevin, O.P., who is an Assistant Professor of Systematic Theology. He will serve as acting Dean until his term officially begins on July 1st.
