My soul * glorifies the Lord.

And my spirit rejoices * in God my Savior.

    For he noticed the lowliness of his servant. * From this moment on * all people will call me blessed.

    For the Almighty has done great things for me; * holy is his name.

        His mercy is from age to age * to those who fear him.

        He has put forth his arm in strength * and scattered the proud hearted.

    He has brought down the mighty from their thrones * and raised up the lowly.

    The hungry he has filled with good things * and sent the rich away empty.

He has grasped Israel his servant, * remembering his mercy,

as he had promised our Fathers, * Abraham and his children forever.
