The Friars Are Still Praying for You

Nationwide, efforts to halt the spread of the coronavirus have gotten tougher. Recently issued “stay-at-home” orders separate friends and loved ones. Churches are increasingly inaccessible. How long will this last? The future seems more uncertain now than it did two weeks ago.

For this reason, the Dominican friars at the House of Studies continue to pray for you all. We dedicate hours of adoration each week to remembering your intentions. Daily before the Lord’s Eucharistic presence, we ask Him to keep you safe and healthy, and to grant peace and tranquility to your homes. We also pray for a quick end to the COVID-19 threat.

On Sunday, the community held a Eucharistic procession around the priory, praying for the Lord to extend his healing presence and grace to all.

For the protection of those battling the COVID-19 threat on the front lines, and for the healing of those suffering the ravages of the virus, the community will offer a triduum of Masses each week through the end of April. Please join your prayers to ours.

As we look forward to happier times, when we will again join together in public prayer, let us persevere in the race before us (cf. 1 Cor 9:24). We did not choose this particular course, but we remain confident that—as this course represents a participation in Calvary—it leads unfailingly to Christ.
