Novena to St. Martin de Porres, October 26 – November 3

Together with Dominicans around the Province of St. Joseph, the friars of the House of Studies are praying a novena to St. Martin de Porres for “civic harmony and racial healing” in the run-up to next month’s election. The novena begins today, October 26th, and it ends on November 3rd, the feast of St. Martin, which also happens to be Election Day.

NOVENA PRAYER TO ST. MARTIN DE PORRES

Most humble St. Martin, your burning charity embraced all, especially the sick, the afflicted, and the poor. We turn to you in our present difficulties seeking intercession. Please ask God on our behalf for civic harmony and racial healing at the time of this national election.

By imitating your submission to God’s will, may we have peace in our hearts. You served others without seeking anything for yourself except closeness to our crucified Lord. May we too find intimacy with Jesus through our care for all who are in need. We ask this through Christ our Lord. Amen.
