New Semester Begins
On Monday, professors, staff, and students returned to the Pontifical Faculty of the Immaculate Conception to begin the spring semester. As it hits the books again, please keep the Faculty in your prayers. May its service to Wisdom bear fruit for the Order and the Church.
The Faculty was blessed to begin the new semester on schedule. As you may have heard, the Dominican community at the House of Studies suffered an extensive outbreak of COVID-19 in December. Over two thirds of the community contracted the virus. Fortunately, all of the cases were mild. No friar required hospitalization. The majority of those infected experienced nothing more than a minor cold or a minor flu. Given their relatively trouble-free experience of the virus, the friars are counting their blessings. Not every religious community that suffered an outbreak has been so fortunate.
Because everyone recovered by New Year’s Day, the Faculty was able to open its doors on time.
