Solemn Profession
Earlier today, nine of our student brothers professed their solemn vows in the Order of Preachers. The prior provincial of the Province of St. Joseph, Fr. Ken Letoile, O.P., celebrated the Profession Mass, which took place in the chapel of the House of Studies. The nine brothers are:
Br. Bartholomew Calvano, O.P.
Br. Brendan Baran, O.P.
Br. Columba Thomas, O.P.
Br. Bernard Knapke, O.P.
Br. Pachomius Walker, O.P.
Br. Maximilian Jaskowak, O.P.
Br. Juan Macias Marquez, O.P.
Br. Luke VanBerkum, O.P.
Br. Michael Donahue, O.P.
In his homily, Fr. Letoile connected today’s profession to the special “Years of Grace” that we are currently observing: the Year of St. Joseph and the 800th Anniversary of St. Dominic’s Death. Both saints teach important lessons to the friar preacher who seeks perfection and holiness, Fr. Letoile explained.
Please pray for these nine brothers, that the oblation of their lives offered today—usque ad mortem (until death)—may win souls for Christ and glory for His Bride, the Church.
